The vice-like grip of socialism seems to be tightening around us a little bit more every day. Liberty-loving patriots such as ourselves quickly become frustrated with most all of our efforts seemingly going unnoticed by those around us and by American citizens in general. Every now and then, there is a spark of hope with a feeling of progress and accomplishment, but it is quickly suppressed by another anti-constitutional law being passed by Congress or the President himself by way of executive order or international treaty. We can FEEL the Constitution and our great nation being ripped to shreds and the pain, to us, is very, very real. The question is: "Why are we not making the progress needed to turn this thing around and stop the tyrants?"
Here's the problem we have: For far too long, we- and more especially our ancestors before us- have allowed God to be removed from our society, all in the name of "secularism" and "seperation of church and state". Boy, have we been duped. I will tell you now that no matter how much progress we make in the names of liberty, freedom and patriotism we will never stop what is coming without returning to God as a nation. Does that mean we all have to belong to the same church? No. Does that mean that we all have to worship Him in the same manner? No. What it does mean, though, is that we recognize Him, acknowlege Him and our dependence upon Him every day and TURN to Him by giving Him some of our time each day and obeying His revealed commandments.
There was a 15-volume book set published around 1900 entitled Beacon Lights of History by John Lord. Within that volume is the following excerpt:
“The world has witnessed many powerful empires which have passed away and left ‘not a track behind.’ What remains of the antediluvian world? … What remains of Nineveh, of Babylon, of Thebes, of Tyre, of Carthage—those great centers of wealth and power? What remains of Roman greatness even, except in laws and literature and renovated statues? … What is the simple story of all the ages?—industry, wealth, corruption, decay, and ruin. What conservative power has been strong enough to arrest the ruin of the nations of antiquity?
“Now if this is to be the destiny of America—an unbounded material growth, followed by corruption and ruin—then Columbus has simply extended the realm for men to try material experiments. Make New York a second Carthage, and Boston a second Athens, and Philadelphia a second Antioch, and Washington a second Rome, and we simply repeat the old experiments.
“But has America no higher destiny than to repeat the old experiments and improve upon them and become rich and powerful? Has she no higher and nobler mission? If America has a great mission to declare and to fulfil, she must put forth altogether new forces, and these not material. And these alone will save her and save the world. … The real glory of America is to be something entirely different from that of which the ancients boasted. And this is to be moral and spiritual—that which the ancients lacked.”
Does the whole nation have to turn to Him in order for us to receive His promised blessings? I say "no". Let us recall that in the Old Testament, Chapter 18 of Genesis, God told Abraham that if he could find but 10 righteous in the city of Sodom, He would refrain from destroying it for the sake of the righteous few. I say that we can receive the same blessing if we can but persuade each and every liberty-loving patriot in this nation to genuinely and truly turn to God and live by His commandments. Imagine the power! I believe with my whole heart that this could trump all the power and control that has been gained by the socialist-progressives over the past 100+ years. Our land is a choice land and has had the Hand of God protecting it up until very recently. If we don't turn to Him, we will not be spared.
Let us recall the example the "father" of our nation, even George Washington, set before us with the following prayer:
“Almighty God, who has given us this good land for our heritage, we humbly beseech Thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of Thy favor and glad to do Thy will.
“Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning and pure manners.
“Save us from violence, discord and confusion; from pride and arrogancy, and from every evil way.
“Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought out of many kindreds and tongues.
“Endue with the spirit of wisdom those whom in Thy name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be peace and justice at home, and that through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth Thy praise among the nations of the earth.
“In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in Thee to fail.
“All of which we ask through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.”
It is up to us; we must be the ones who lead the way in the love of God and Country. We must not give up on those with whom we are frustrated, either, as we never know but that they will one day awaken as we have. We must lead with loving persuasion for that is the only way that will win God's favor and blessings. He holds all power for good.
